Bali Hai!

One of the most interesting of the recent spate of Relay for Life events took place in Caledon over the weekend as many coconut bras and short sailor skirts were donned for the South Pacific party as designed by Miss Lavandar Beaumont and Mr. Erasmus Margulis.

The highpoint of the tropical festivity was the date auction, in which 10 of Caledon’s most desirable gentlemen placed an evening of their time on the block in support of the RFL.

The 10 men for sale were notable Caledonians Mr. JJ Drinkwater, Post-Captain Hotspur OToole, Major Erasmus Margulis, Sir ZenMondo Wormser, Captain Viderian Vollmar, Sir Red Caliber, Captain Jaksoi Pak, Sir Telemachus Dean, Professor Alfonso Avalanche and yours truly.

After a furious four hours, the totals raised for RFL topped 80K Linden. The top three auction targets were myself, coming in third when Miss Fuschia Begonia put down 10,000L for an evening with me (when I ask her what she has in mind, she changes the subject to hair-removal products and dessert toppings), Mr. Erasmus Margulis in second place when a secret bidder paid 11,000L for him through Miss Beaumont…and the top price by far, 21,000 Linden, was paid for Mr. JJ Drinkwater by that same anonymous manhunter using Miss Beaumont as their catspaw.

Rumors that the mystery bidder was in fact Mr. Drinkwater’s mother have not been substantiated, though I do have it on good authority that the date in question will be comprised of “Dressing JJ funny and making sure he eats right…” Miss Beaumont, predictably, has no comment.

The bidders, the biddees and the large crowd who came out to dance are in the debt of Miss Beaumont, Mr. Margulis and Mr. ZenMondo for a highly successful and enjoyable evening.
