Seasons Change in Winterfell

The twilight Sims of Winterfell have been undergoing several exciting changes lately. The four federated Sims under the leadership of Serra Anansi bask in the shadows of an endless sunset, a haven for those of us who enjoy life to be a slightly darker hue then Caledon.
The changes include some new locations for the main Sim of Winterfell, as well as some administration changes for the entire area.
First of the new additions is a beautiful standing stone circle on Winterfell, where visitors and Winterfell residents alike can relax, picnic, cuddle, dance around one of the numerous ritual bonfires or sacrifice the virgin of their choice (BYOV with no uncorking fee).
The Stonehenge-style circle has become one of my favorite places to sit and brood of late and is ideally suited to quiet time either on your own or in pleasant or unpleasant company. Enter the circle HERE.
In addition to the stone circle, Miss Anansi has recently opened a Medieval shopping village in Winterfell as well for the convenience of residents and the entire Metaverse. The village features more then two dozen themed vendors in a properly rich and moody setting for all your Gothic/Vampire/Dark Medieval shopping needs. In addition to shopping, the area also features a suitably gothic club space/common area with numerous amusements set out for your enjoyment. Find the Medieval village HERE.
Beyond shopping and vendor spaces, there are occasionally residential parcels with land rights available. Contact Serra Anansi for details.
Finally, the four Sims (Winterfell, Huginns Keep, Muninns Keep and Niflheim) have been renamed in order to improve the sense of community of the area as well as to make them easier to find via Search.
Huginns Keep is now called Winterfell Haven, Muninns Keep is now called Winterfell Sanctuary and Niflheim is now called Winterfell Reverie.
Kirawill and I are both proud founding residents of Winterfell Reverie and BardHaven Abbey there is an important part of the Baronial holdings. As such, we can attest to the dark splendor and fierce creativity on display in Winterfell and hope that the lovely Miss Anansi continues to go from stength to strength.
Remember, in Winterfell, Caledon can’t hear you scream..and that is just the way we like it.

Oh, drat. I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that there was a Niflheim on the grid…
I do admit to an unrepentent joy in wandering Winterfell, though I am not a tenant. The most fun I had was introducing the build to my landlord and his lady wife, vampires far from home. They adored it. Were it not that my landlord owns so much of Rivula at present, they said they would have much enjoyed building homes there…
Twilight spaces are needed. Evil Daystar, anyway.
Emilly… I have had the best time creating Winterfell it and am always surprised and delighted that others enjoy it as much as I do! I never thought anyone would grove on what my tiny little heart calls home.
The choice to change the names of the surrounding islands was two fold. Most importantly was the fact that there is another island with the name Niflheimr. Due to a Linden loop hole, I named my island Niflheim not knowing there was an estate with that name, when that estate owner wanted to rename her island to match the estate name she couldn’t due to my island being named first. Karmicly I felt that I should give her the name because while I am interested in Viking history, she is dedicated to it… to give her the name just seemed right. And being a creature of nitpicking balance seeking everything’s gotta match neurosis… I decided if I changed Niflheim, I had to change them all.
The second reason is much less interesting… From way back when, I offered Desmond the advice that he should keep all the Caledon islands with the name Caledon in them. I believe it is an asset to have all of Caledon fall under one naming convention, it fosters continuity and a feeling of national patriotism. Why in the world I didn’t follow my own advice is beyond me, but SL is an ever-changing space and its never too late to make up for past oversights!
Cheers!
Serra
Now, you see, that makes perfect sense to me, and I had not actually looked for another sim named Niflheim. I was rather happier with yours.
But yes, going to Winterfell led me to buy two lovely Art Deco Bromasole lamps, led me to landmark the land so I could return at whim, led me to pull down the documents on land rental and briefly consider becoming a parcelholder.
Briefly, only because my finances are inconstant at present, and that must ever be considered. **grins**
But you’re more than welcome. Yes, many do enjoy what you’ve built, and we are overjoyed you’re still sharing it.
I think the short exchange here between Miss Orr and Miss Anansi, in fact the entirety of Caledon and Winterfell make clear to me the greatest strength of the Metaverse and the greatest gift that it gives us all, creators and consumers both:
“Personal creativity for public enjoyment”.
I hope this entire blog, and all the activities and events it details might be seen as homage and thanks to visionaries such as Desmond and Serra. We would be lost without them.
