Our Story Thus Far….

Woolgathering in The Beacon Room

The time has come, I fear, to begin wordsmithing again. Long hours of pain and toil had led me to put down my pen, but as I look out upon the teeming masses seeming to parade past my veranda, I know I must begin to seek order again on the printed page.

For now, I present to you this trifling effort, my first tentative steps back from calamity and renewal.

To a small degree, I shall ruminate and comment upon political and social issues which effect all of us in the Metaverse, and not just Caledonians, Steelheaders or the inhabitants of New Babbage or the Winterfell Domains.

To a larger degree, I will report upon social events and happenings within what I call The Colonial Districts, being the Caledons, New Babbage, Steelhead, the Winterfell Domains and any other areas with similar covenants which may pop up. I will report on who did what, who is rumored to be doing what, what is being whispered is being done to who, and what everyone wore. I may even include light fiction on occasion, concerning the adventures of my household and our compatriots.

By far the largest portion of these dispatches, and the key motivation to my return to the pen, is to comment upon Victorian era fashion in all it’s glory. I will discuss where to find it, which designs are worthy or praise and which are worthy criticism, and how to take garments designed for other worlds and make use of them in our chosen mileau. I will also speak with designers, and offer their insights into the creative process and all matters pertaining to the needle and loom.

Who am I, you may ask? I am simply a chronicler, The Lord of BardHaven, reporting from The House of Three Graces on Jack’s Point in Mayfair, a founder of Caledon Moors previously and now lovely Mayfair. In addition, I am the Master of BardHaven Abbey, lurking in the shadows of Niflheim, Winterfell Domains. With my lovely Kirawill by my side, and her winsome younger sister Kiralette, I seek to find a pathway through our bustling age of progress and to embrace the grace we all desire, in both light and darkness.
